Moody Purple Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Last week I showed you Felicia’s beautiful wedding flowers in multiple shades of purple. This week I get to share with you Morgan’s moody purple silk wedding flowers. Let’s take a look at some photos from Ivy and Ink Photography from her lovely wedding day!

Morgan’s cascading bridal bouquet was a mix of white Garden Roses, lavender Garden Roses, plum Tea Roses, purple Heather, and Lamb’s Ear.

The bridesmaids carried the same mix of flowers in round handtied style bridesmaid bouquets. I was so pleased that the plum tea Roses matched their dresses to perfectly!

I got so many compliments on the flowers for the wedding! I can’t thank you enough for them!

Morgan wanted matching centerpieces but didn’t want to budget for full finished arrangements. She had the great idea to buy bulk amounts of Roses and Baby’s Breath to make her own centerpieces. They added the perfect amount of floral touch to her reception and she did a great job arranging them herself!

I wanted to share Morgan’s cake with you as a great example of how to add just a touch of florals to your cake, without going over board. The rustic look of her cake and cake stand, along with that custom topper IS the feature. Adding a big floral piece really would have taken away from those unique elements. I think this was a great decision to add just a few flowers around the base of the cake to incorporate the them and colors without it being all about the flowers.

Here’s one last breathtaking shot of Morgan from the talented Ivy and Ink Photography.

Lavender, Eggplant, Blush and Ivory Silk Wedding Flowers and Centerpieces

January weddings are usually full of blues, whites, silvers and greens. But Mara’s colors were white, lavender, blush and navy. What we ended up with was a mix of plum, lavender, blush, pink and white with some softer greenery so that the silk bridal bouquets didn’t get too dark. Mara loved the look of the plum complementing the lavender, so we skipped the navy all together. Sometimes when you think you know what you want, a visual of something just slightly different makes more sense!

The bridal bouquet was a modified cascade style with white Dahlia, Ranunculus and Roses, lavender Roses, a blush Tea Rose, pink Ranunculus, plum Statice, blush Seedum, Lamb’s Ear and Seeded Eucalyptus. The asymmetrical style of the bouquet gave all the flowers a chance to shine while still giving a cascading swoop that we all know and love.

The bridesmaid bouquets had the same mix of flowers but in a round handtied style. I didn’t want their bouquets to get too round, so I had a few flowers sticking out from the bouquet and used the greenery to extend the shape of the bouquet beyond a sphere. It mimics the bridal bouquet pretty well, but without any cascading sections.

Mara’s mom had done all the designing and ordering with me to create custom arrangements. And having just gone through this whole process with her other daughter, she had a good eye for what Mara wanted and what worked for them and their budget. Silk wedding flower centerpieces are a great way to save money, as fresh flower centerpieces can be quite expensive. Here you can see the centerpieces we designed that incorporated many of the same flowers and colors as the bouquets but with bigger impact! Designed to sit on top of vases they had from the last wedding, these arrangements had plenty of fullness and were going to look fantastic floating above their guest tables.

Wisteria, Lavender and Ivory Silk Wedding Flowers

Sometimes a picture says it all. Take a look at Kate’s custom silk wedding flowers in wisteria, lavender and ivory.

Composed of ivory and lavender Peonies, wisteria Tea Roses, Lavender and Lamb’s ear, Kate’s bridal bouquet was just so darn romantic. The handtied style is classic and will always look great no matter the year or the season!

The bridesmaids will carry bouquets similar to Kate’s but scaled back in size. They were tied off with matching Antique White satin ribbon.

I found these sweet little mini Peonies that were just perfect for the boutonnieres and corsages.

Groom’s boutonniere with a mini ivory Peony, Lavender, Waxflower and Lamb’s ear. The groomsmen and father’s boutonnieres had a mini Peony, Lavender and Lamb’s ear.

The mothers’ pin on corsages matched the guys with a couple mini ivory Peonies, Lavender, a small wisteria flower bud, Lamb’s ear, ribbon and small spray of rhinestones. Charming!

Elegant Cascade Bridal Bouquet

This beautiful cascade bridal bouquet is one that I couldn't help but showcase. Her requests were simple: cascading orchids with lavender accents. Oh, and don't forget the bling!

Phalaenopsis Orchids never disappoint! They are elegant, classic, and always beautiful. And when they are high quality silk flowers, they don't wilt, crush, or turn brown.  I added some ivory Calla Lilies to fill out the bouquet and then our beautiful lavender blossoms were the perfect touch on this elegant cascade bridal bouquet.

I didn't want to go over the top with the bling, so we added a rhinestone wrap to fully cover the stems for that extra wow-factor!
